Our investment thesis

Hodl Ventures aims to build a diversified portfolio through early-stage token investments in which we focus on specific sectors and themes.

Hodl Ventures Investment thesis

Tailored to the current market cycle

Over the past three years, the Ventures team has worked to develop an investment strategy aligned with the current market cycle. With the help of a team of research analysts, we have concluded that certain sectors, which are retail-intensive, will outperform others.

Moreover, we expect a relatively short period to invest in emerging projects. The digital assets market is cyclical and we note that the market will be on a downward trend until late 2025, or early 2026.

We therefore aim to invest in about 20 to 30 projects in various sectors in the coming period to take advantage of the last phase of the market cycle.

The Hodl VC fund invests in various sectors for diversification.

Infrastructure

Interoperability solutions, data sharing, and data storage.

Gaming

Gaming as a platform, tooling, and markets

DeFi

Liquid Staking Derivatives, Yield, and Forecast Markets

AI & Blockchain

Decentralized machine learning, democratization of AI, and open AI services

What makes our thesis unique?

Niche verticals

Based on research, we have tailored our thesis to niche sectors such as Gaming and DeFi as we believe these sectors will gain retail popularity. While Infrastructure and AI provide unique opportunities due to their speed of innovation and adoption.

Cycle-driven

Since its inception, the digital assets market has followed a four-year cycle. We have aligned our thesis with this four-year cycle, intending to provide the best support for projects in this cycle while mitigating the imminent downward trend the market will follow.

Dealflow network

Over the past cycles, the venture team has built a network of trusted partners such as other venture capitalists but also close connections to foundations of blockchain protocols, allowing us to be at the forefront of innovation and interesting projects.
