For example, some projects will no longer exist after a few years and new deals often take place behind closed doors. This strategy is therefore characterized as high-risk, high-reward.

The core of our venture capital strategy focuses on early-stage investments. These are invested in projects in high-growth sectors with excellent (pre-)product-market fit and experienced founders.

These investments consist of early-stage investments that have shown significant improvements since the previous investment round(s). This allows us to further increase our exposure to promising and well-performing projects.

Some capital is reserved for projects with a good working product but need financing or are vastly undervalued. This is the liquid portion of the portfolio reserved for secondary market transactions or Over-The-Counter (OTC) deals.

How do I become a Hodl investor?

To become a Hodl investor, it’s important to first meet with our financial specialists at our office or virtually if preferred. Together, we assess the role of digital assets in your investment portfolio. We will also review the necessary documentation, which you can complete at home.

When the verification process is finished, you can transfer the preferred investment to Hodl. On the last day of the month, your investment will officially enter the Hodl funds. Once you become a Hodler, you will gain access to our investor portal, where you can monitor the performance of your investment on a daily basis. You will also receive weekly updates with market developments, and monthly and quarterly updates on the fund performance via our Key Fact Sheets and Quarterly Report.

What is Hodl’s fee structure?

The fee structure of the VC Fund consists of two components: the management fee and the performance fee.

Management fee
Hodl's management fee for the VC Fund is 3% annually, calculated over the fund's assets under management (AUM).

Performance fee
Hodl's performance fee is 20% on returns up to 300% and 30% on returns above 300%. A hurdle rate of 3% applies, so carried interest is only charged on returns above this threshold. The fund applies a European-style waterfall: investors receive 100% of their called capital back before any carried interest is paid.
